Single-color cuts: use Ink mode
For vinyl decals and one-material cuts, Ink mode produces one clean black silhouette — the simplest possible cut file, no stray layers to clean up.

Multi-layer projects: Logo mode
Logo mode keeps each color as its own shape, so Design Space can split the design into per-color layers — one per vinyl color or cardstock sheet.

Fewer colors cut smoother
Every color boundary becomes a blade path. Slide Colors down to the number of materials you'll actually cut, and lower Detail slightly to smooth out micro-nodes the machine would jitter over.
Questions, answered
Will these SVGs actually import into Cricut Design Space?+
Yes — the output is standard SVG paths with plain fills, exactly what Design Space's uploader expects. Silhouette Studio, Glowforge, and LightBurn read the same files.
How do I get one clean cut line instead of a complicated trace?+
Switch to Ink mode. It reduces the image to black-and-white shapes — effectively a silhouette — which arrives in Design Space as a single cuttable layer.
Can I sell crafts made from converted designs?+
The converter adds no restrictions — SVGs you make here are yours, commercial use included. Just make sure you have rights to the source image itself (your own art, licensed designs, or public domain).
Design Space shows my upload as one flat layer — why?+
Upload it as a "cut image" and ungroup after inserting: each color from Logo mode is a separate path. If you converted in Ink mode, one layer is the intended result.
